About the Remembrance Tree Ceremony

For more than 30 years, the Remembrance Tree Ceremony has brought families and friends together to remember loved ones during the holiday season. Join us on Sunday, December 6, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Paige Hill Reception Hall at Chenault Vineyards, located at 2284 Barnes Mill Road in Richmond.

Anyone who misses a loved one is welcome to participate, whether or not that person received care from Compassionate Care Plus. The ceremony will include special readings, music performed by local musicians, a memorial photo slideshow, and the reading of loved ones’ names. Afterward, we invite you to stay for a light reception hosted by our staff and volunteers.

Reserve a Memorial Ornament

With a donation of any size, a memorial ornament will be reserved for your loved one, and their name will be read aloud during the ceremony. There will also be an opportunity to personalize a memorial tag at the event.

Please use the donation form on this page to reserve your ornament(s) by Thursday, December 3, at 5 p.m.

As your loved one’s name is read, you and your family are invited to place your ornament on one of the remembrance trees. If you prefer, a staff member or volunteer will be happy to place it for you.

After the reservation deadline, we cannot guarantee availability of this year’s ornament, but ornaments from previous years will be available while supplies last. Please call 859-986-1500 to make a reservation after the deadline. Names submitted after December 3, including those reserved at the ceremony, will be read at the end of the ceremony.

Your donation supports our core programs, helping us care for both patients and families, including those who may be uninsured or underinsured.

If making a donation is a barrier, please call 859-986-1500. We will be happy to help you reserve a memorial ornament.

Take Your Memorial Ornament Home After the Ceremony

You are welcome to take your ornament home after the ceremony. If you cannot attend or collect it that day, you may pick it up at the Compassionate Care Center, 350 Isaacs Lane in Richmond. The remembrance tree will be displayed at the Center throughout the holiday season, and staff will be available to assist you during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Participate in the Optional Memorial Slideshow

You may also honor your loved one by submitting a photo for our optional memorial slideshow. Please use the photo submission form to upload a digital photo along with your loved one’s first and last name by Thursday, December 3, at 5 p.m.

Please note: We cannot accept photo submissions after Thursday, December 3!

About The Venue: Chenault Vineyards Paige Hill Reception Hall

This year’s Remembrance Tree Ceremony will be held at the beautiful Paige Hill Reception Hall at Chenault Vineyards, located at 2284 Barnes Mill Road in Richmond. From I-75, take Exit 87 and travel west on Barnes Mill Road (KY 876) for approximately six miles. Chenault Vineyards Visitor Center will be on your right. Turn onto the gravel driveway and continue past the visitor center. We'll have event signs posted along the way to help you reach the reception hall.
